What is Spinal Decompression Therapy?
Spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical traction based procedure for herniated or bulging discs in the neck and lower back. Anyone who has back or neck pain caused by a damaged disc may be helped by spinal decompression therapy. These conditions include herniated, protruding or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, or even failed surgery.
What decompression system will be used?
Jacksonville Chiropractic uses the Kennedy Neural-Flex system which we believe is the best on the market today. In June of 2015 Dr. Bennett completed the requirements to be certified in the Kennedy Decompression Technique.
How many treatments does it take and how much will it cost?
The number of treatments will vary from each patient, but the average is 12-20 sessions. Some relief should be noticed in just a few visits. The cost for a decompression session is $25. This does not include any other therapy, or the adjustment.
Who is not a candidate for Spinal Decompression Therapy?
Spinal decompression therapy is not recommended for pregnant women, patients who have osteoporosis, severe obesity or nerve damage. Patients who have surgical screws, plates, and cages are not candidates as well.
